Aquarian Cladding has recently secured the contract to supply specialist cladding contractor LSC Facades with approx. 2000m2 of Gebrik to be used on the exciting new cinema, retail and housing scheme in the centre of Walthamstow, known as The Scene at Cleveland Place.
The development will be at the heart of Waltham Forest Council’s revitalisation of Walthamstow to stimulate a thriving evening economy and will have 5 restaurants and retail units, a nine screen, 1200-seat cinema complex to be run by Empire Cinemas and 121 new homes.
Aquarian Cladding worked closely with project architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and developer Hill Partnership to develop a bespoke brick finish to help achieve the design brief of a ‘metallic’ brick façade, which has unusually been designed to be used on the curved façade in vertical ‘portrait’ stretcher bond. Technical involvement was also required to ensure that new homes warranty provider NHBC would include the Gebrik system in its New Homes Warranty.
Deliveries of the SR13-91 Silver Engobed start in late May 2014 and phased completion is anticipated from late Summer 2014.
